How do I set up Nexus?
Install the Nexus unit aboard and power it on. In the app, create an account, then scan the sticker on the unit. The app joins the unit, can connect it to your boat's Wi-Fi, and adds the boat to your account. Already have a boat and adding another? Settings › My boats › Set up a new boat.
What does it work with?
The app runs on iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets, with apps for Apple and Android watches. The Nexus unit reads NMEA 2000, engine data and supported Bluetooth sensors.
How many devices can I have connected?
How many devices have you got? Connect them all.
Is my data stored in the cloud?
Your boat keeps its own data. When you use the app away from the boat, live readings and positions pass through our servers to your phone; we don't keep them. We do keep your account (your email address and the devices you sign in on) and a 30-day record of the alarms we send you. A copy of your ship's log is kept only if you turn it on, under Settings › Data usage. The privacy policy has the details.
Can I share my boat with crew?
Yes. On the boat's page in My boats, make an invite and send the code. The other person enters it under "Join with an invite" in their own app.
Can I customize dashboards?
Yes. Choose a layout, then add the widgets you want: depth, wind, speed, tides, weather, the anchor and more.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings › User profile › Delete account. This deletes your account and signs you out on every device. The cloud copy of a boat's log is deleted with it if you were the boat's only owner; for a boat with other owners, turn off "Keep a copy in the cloud" under Settings › Data usage. No longer have the app? See Delete your Nexus account.
